Affiliate and commission payouts

Affiliate payouts without the month-end scramble

Affiliate payouts in FractionalPay are calculated on every sale, not rebuilt at month end. Each payment credits the affiliate's commission to a ledger, refunds claw it back automatically, and commission payouts go out on your schedule.

Tiers, time limits and different rates per product live in one commission program, so creators, co-hosts and affiliates on the same sale each get exactly their share.

  • Tiered rates by monthly sales, applied as each tier is reached
  • Refunds reverse the commission, even after it was paid
  • Commission payouts daily, weekly or monthly with a minimum

Worked example

A 99 USD course sale with a co-host and an affiliate

A creator sells a 99.00 USD course recorded with a co-host. A student arrives through an affiliate link, and your checkout passes the affiliate reference into the payment metadata. The rule pays the creator 55 percent, the co-host 15 percent and the affiliate the 20 percent rate of the first tier. The platform keeps the remainder.

The split and its ledger transaction are written the moment the payment succeeds. Each party sees a pending balance right away, so the affiliate dashboard you build on the API is always current. When this affiliate passes 50 sales in the month, later sales use the 25 percent rate of the second tier.

FractionalPay does not track clicks or cookies. Attribution stays in your checkout or tracking tool; we take the affiliate reference from the payment and do the money part.

Refund clawback

When a student gets a partial refund

The same student is refunded 33.00 USD of the 99.00 USD sale. FractionalPay reverses every share by the same ratio, one third, so the affiliate does not keep commission on money the platform gave back, and the creator and co-host are treated the same way.

  • Platform

    Reversed

    After refund
    $6.60

Reversed amounts add up to the 33.00 USD refund and the remaining shares add up to 66.00 USD. If the affiliate was already paid for this sale, the 6.60 USD becomes a negative balance and is deducted from the next commission payout. A next payout of 412.80 USD goes out as 406.20 USD, and the statement shows why.

A full refund reverses the whole 19.80 USD the same way. Chargebacks follow the same path, or platform first if your rule says the platform absorbs disputes.

Commission programs

Tiers, time limits and rates per product

Commission programs are part of the Growth plan. A program holds the tiers, the period they are counted over, how long a referred customer earns commission and which products it applies to. Rules reference the program, so changing a rate does not mean editing dozens of splits.

Different products can carry different rates. A course might pay 20 percent, a coaching membership 30 percent for its first 12 months of renewals, and a free webinar nothing at all. Holds let you keep a share back until your refund window closes, so most clawbacks happen before any money leaves.

  • Tiered rates by sales count or referred revenue in a period
  • Time-limited commission on subscription renewals
  • Per-product rates through product or metadata matching
  • Holds, for example 100 percent of commission for 30 days

For the program manager

Commission payouts that affiliates can check themselves

An affiliate manager spends most of payout week answering why a number changed. With every sale and every reversal in the ledger, the answer is a statement line, not a spreadsheet hunt. Commission payouts follow the schedule you set, with a minimum amount so nobody gets a transfer for a few cents.

Payouts are sent through your own platform account at a licensed payment operator to each affiliate's connected account. FractionalPay calculates, records and instructs. We never hold, pool or transmit funds and we are not a payment institution.

  • Monthly payout on the 1st with a 50 USD minimum, for example
  • Tax form status per affiliate and yearly earnings statements
  • Up to 1,000 beneficiaries on Growth, unlimited on Scale

What are affiliate payouts in FractionalPay?
They are the commission each affiliate earns, calculated on every sale by your program rules, recorded in the ledger and paid on your schedule through your own payment account.
Do you track affiliate clicks?
No. Your checkout or tracking tool decides who referred the sale and passes the affiliate reference in the payment metadata. FractionalPay calculates the commission, handles refunds and pays it out.
How does a refund affect a commission that was already paid?
The commission is reversed in proportion to the refund. If it was already paid, the amount becomes a negative balance and is deducted from the affiliate's next payout, with a ledger entry showing the reason.
Which plan includes tiered commissions?
Partner and affiliate commissions, including tiers, time limits and per-product rates, are part of Growth at 499 USD a month or 249 USD a month billed yearly. See pricing.
Can a co-host and an affiliate share the same sale?
Yes. A single payment can be split between all the parties your rule defines, each with a percentage or fixed amount, and the platform receives the remainder.
Do you hold affiliate commissions before paying them?
No. The money stays in your own platform account at your payment operator. A hold in FractionalPay only delays the payout instruction; it never moves funds to us.
Is there a fee per commission payout?
No fee from us. You pay a flat monthly plan; your payment operator's own payout fees apply as they do today.
