Global payout platform
A payout platform with approvals built in
FractionalPay is a payout platform for mass payouts from your own payment account: import beneficiaries, let rules or balances decide who is owed what, approve large payouts with a second person, and send every instruction through the account you already have.
We are clear about one thing. The money does not pass through us. It moves inside your connected platform account at a licensed payment operator, and FractionalPay is the layer that decides, records and instructs.
- CSV import of beneficiaries in one upload
- Roles and four-eyes approvals above a threshold
- Ledger per entity and currency on Scale

How the money moves
Mass payouts from the account you already own
Many payout platforms ask you to fund an account they control and pay out from there. FractionalPay works differently. You connect your own platform account at your payment operator, today Stripe Connect, and every beneficiary is linked to a connected account in it. When a payout is due, FractionalPay sends the instruction to your account and your operator moves the money to the beneficiary.
That means FractionalPay calculates the amounts, keeps the double-entry ledger and sends payout instructions. It never holds, pools or transmits funds and it is not a payment institution. Your operator's own payout fees and coverage apply, and we add no fee per payout.
It also means the honest answer to "is it a global payout platform" depends on your operator. You can pay beneficiaries in the countries and currencies your connected account supports. On Scale you can connect up to 10 accounts, for example one per legal entity or region, each with its own ledger and currency.
- No pre-funding of a third-party wallet
- No fee per payout from FractionalPay
- Coverage and currencies follow your operator account

From list to paid
Running mass payouts in four steps
Whether you pay 30 contractors or 300 creators, the run looks the same. The difference between a payout platform and a bank file is that every step leaves a record.
-
01
Import beneficiaries
Upload a CSV with name, email, type, country, currency and connected account id, or create them through the API.
-
02
Decide who is owed what
Balances come from split rules on incoming payments, so each run pays exactly what the ledger says is available.
-
03
Approve the run
Finance reviews scheduled payouts. On Scale, payouts above your threshold wait for a second approver.
-
04
Send and confirm
Instructions go to your account. Each payout ends paid or failed, with a signed webhook either way.

Approvals and roles
Two people for the big payouts
The usual payout risk is not the calculation. It is one person who can change a bank detail and send a large amount on the same afternoon. FractionalPay separates those powers.
On Growth, team members get roles: Owner, Finance, Developer and Viewer. On Scale, payouts above a threshold you set move to awaiting approval and are only sent after a second person approves them, in the dashboard or with POST /payouts/{id}/approve. Scale also adds SAML SSO, audit log export and an IP allowlist for API keys.
- Viewer access for support and auditors
- Approval history on every payout
- Audit log export on Scale
Payouts API
Approve and track payouts in code
Everything the dashboard does is available through the REST API with test and live keys. GET /payouts lists payouts with their status, and POST /payouts/{id}/approve records an approval on Scale. Every POST accepts an Idempotency-Key, so a retried request never approves or creates anything twice.
Your systems hear about each step through signed webhooks: payout.scheduled, payout.paid and payout.failed. Deliveries are retried with backoff for 24 hours and can be replayed from the delivery log. The full reference is in the API docs, and the payouts API page walks through it.
