Vendor payouts

Vendor payouts on every vendor's schedule

Vendor payouts with FractionalPay start at the order: each vendor's share is calculated when the payment succeeds, collected into a balance, and paid on that vendor's schedule once it passes your minimum payout threshold.

Vendors see a clear earnings statement, your store keeps its commission, and a refund takes back only what each party actually earned. The money moves through your own payment account, never through ours.

  • Weekly or monthly schedule per vendor
  • Minimum payout threshold with automatic rollover
  • Earnings statements and CSV exports per vendor

Proportional refunds

A refund that takes back only what each party earned

A customer buys a 120.00 USD item from Vendor 112. Your store takes a 15 percent commission, so the vendor earns 102.00 USD and the store 18.00 USD. A week later the customer returns part of the order and receives 40.00 USD back.

Many multi-vendor stores charge the whole refund to the vendor, which vendors notice and dispute. With proportional reversal each share gives back its own part of the refund.

The vendor carries 85 percent of the refund because they earned 85 percent of the order, and your commission gives back the other 15 percent. If your policy is that the store refunds its commission first, choose the platform first strategy on the rule instead.

When the vendor was already paid for this order, the 34.00 USD is recorded as a negative balance and taken from the next vendor payout. The statement shows the order, the refund and the deduction as separate lines.

Vendor payout schedules

A schedule and a threshold for each vendor

Not every vendor should be paid the same way. A large supplier with hundreds of orders a week expects weekly payouts. A small maker with three sales a month is better served by one monthly payout than by four transfers of a few dollars, each with its own operator fee.

In FractionalPay every vendor is a beneficiary attached to a payout schedule. A schedule has an interval (daily, weekly on a weekday or monthly on a date), a minimum payout amount and an optional delay in days before new shares become available. Vendors below the minimum keep their balance and roll over to the next payout date automatically.

You can move a vendor from monthly to weekly at any time; their balance stays exactly where it is. Large stores with many vendors also use marketplace payouts holds to cover return windows, available on Growth.

Vendor earnings statements

What a vendor sees at the end of the month

Vendor support tickets usually come down to one question: why is my payout this amount. A monthly earnings statement answers it before it is asked. Here is October for Vendor 112, paid weekly.

Every number comes from the ledger, so the statement always matches what was actually paid. On Growth and Scale the tax data per beneficiary adds tax form status, yearly earnings statements and a VAT breakdown per line for your accountant.

Exports are CSV, per vendor or for all vendors at once, and on Scale the full ledger can be exported in journal format on a schedule.

Behind every vendor

Vendors who know when they get paid

A vendor packing orders on a Tuesday wants to know two things: how much they have earned so far and on which day it arrives. FractionalPay keeps both visible in the ledger and in the statement, so your team can answer in one sentence.

Payouts are instructions sent to your own platform account at a licensed payment operator, which moves the money to each vendor's connected account. FractionalPay calculates the shares, keeps the ledger and sends the instructions. It never holds, pools or transmits funds and is not a payment institution.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Something else on your mind? Write to [email protected] or read the API documentation.

Can vendors have different commission rates?
Yes. Rules match on product or on a metadata key and value, so a category or a single vendor can have its own commission. Every split stores the rule version it used.
What is the minimum payout threshold for?
It keeps you from sending many tiny transfers. A vendor whose available balance is below the minimum keeps it and is paid on the next payout date where the balance reaches the threshold.
How are vendors added?
Each vendor is a beneficiary linked to their connected account id at your operator. Add them in the dashboard, import a CSV or create them with POST /beneficiaries. Starter covers up to 50 beneficiaries, Growth up to 1,000 and Scale has no limit.
Does FractionalPay pay vendors from its own account?
No. Payouts come from your own platform account at your payment operator. We calculate, record and instruct; we never hold, pool or transmit funds.
Can vendors download their earnings statements?
You can export statements per vendor as CSV and share them. Yearly earnings statements and tax form status per vendor are part of the tax data on Growth and Scale.
What does it cost?
Starter is 199 USD per month, Growth 499 USD and Scale 1,499 USD, or 99, 249 and 749 USD per month billed yearly. There is no fee per payout from us. See pricing.
