FractionalPay

Refund policy

Last updated October 15, 2026

Short version. Subscription payments for FractionalPay are final. We refund only in the three cases in section 3. Before paying you can run the split simulator and a sandbox workspace with demo data, and you can cancel the renewal of any plan at any time from the billing portal.

1. Payments are final

A FractionalPay plan is a monthly or yearly subscription that gives your workspace access to the software, with the limits and features listed on the pricing page. We do not sell credits and we take no fee per transaction. You pay for access for a period, and that access is available in full from the first day of the period, whether your team uses it or not.

The demo shows the real product (the breakdown, the ledger journal, the payout calendar and the sandbox) before you pay, so what a plan contains is clear in advance. When you no longer need the Service, cancelling stops every future renewal.

FractionalPay is sold to businesses. Where a customer is nevertheless treated as a consumer under the law of the European Union, the statutory right of withdrawal ends once performance has begun with that customer's consent. By subscribing you ask us to start providing the Service immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once performance has begun.

2. What is not refunded

None of the following gives a right to a refund, in whole or in part:

  • changing your mind, changing plans for your business or no longer needing the Service,
  • not using the Service, or using less of it, during a paid period,
  • a renewal that you forgot to cancel, or cancelling shortly after a renewal,
  • a renewal collected after one or more failed attempts, because the period had already started,
  • choosing the wrong plan, the wrong billing period or a plan larger than you needed,
  • the remaining days of a period after you cancel or downgrade, which are never prorated back,
  • a feature you expected that is not described on the pricing page,
  • results caused by the rules, amounts or beneficiaries you configured,
  • fees, holds, delays or decisions of your payment operator, which are outside the Service,
  • anyone else using your account or API keys, including people you gave access to.

3. The only exceptions

We refund only in one of these cases, only when it can be shown from the records in section 6, and only up to the affected charge:

Duplicate charge. You were charged twice for the same period because of an error in our billing.

Proven unauthorized charge. Your card was used without your authority, you tell us within 14 days of the charge, and our records and those of our payment operator confirm it. A statement alone is not enough, the records decide.

Total failure of the Service. A confirmed fault on our side made the whole Service unusable for a continuous period, you reported it while it was happening, and we could not fix it. Slower responses, a single feature not working, and problems of your own systems or of your payment operator are not a total failure. Scale workspaces are covered by the service credits in the terms of service for availability below the uptime commitment.

A refund granted under this section goes back to the original payment method only, is limited to what you paid for the affected period and is our only liability for that charge.

4. How to ask for a refund

Email [email protected] from the address of the workspace owner within 14 days of the charge. Include the workspace name, the invoice number and which exception in section 3 applies, with any evidence you have. Requests sent later or through other channels are not considered. We review each request against section 3 and reply by email.

Opening a chargeback with your bank instead of writing to us first is a breach of the terms of service and leads to the account being closed.

5. Cancelling, renewals and failed payments

Cancel anytime from the billing portal in your dashboard, without writing to anyone. Cancelling stops all future renewals at once and your plan stays active until the end of the period already paid. Cancelling does not refund the current period and is not a refund request.

Subscriptions renew automatically. When a new period begins, access for the whole period is granted and its payment is due. If the charge fails, our payment operator retries it over the following days. Those retries collect a payment for a period that has already started, so cancelling after the renewal date stops the next renewal but does not cancel the amount already due. To avoid a renewal, cancel before the renewal date shown in the billing portal.

Upgrades are charged immediately with the prorated difference for the rest of the current period. Downgrades start at the end of the paid period, with no refund for the higher plan.

6. Records we keep

For every subscription we keep the date and time of purchase, the plan, price and billing period shown at checkout, your acceptance of the terms of service and this policy, the confirmation and renewal emails, the invoices, and the activity log of the workspace (sign-ins, rule changes, payout runs, API requests). Our payment operator keeps its own record of each payment, including the result of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. We use these records to assess any refund request or dispute and provide them to your bank when a chargeback is raised.

7. Questions

Write to [email protected]. This policy applies to purchases made after the date at the top. Earlier purchases stay under the policy that applied when they were made.
