Hyperwallet alternatives
Hyperwallet alternatives for marketplaces that collect on Stripe
The best Hyperwallet alternative depends on where your customers pay. If checkout already runs on a Stripe platform account, FractionalPay splits each payment by rule between sellers, partners and your platform, records it in a double-entry ledger and pays every share through Stripe Connect, so sellers are paid from the same account the money arrived in.
Hyperwallet, which PayPal now sells as Enterprise Payouts, is a strong mass payout rail with many payout methods and countries. What it does not do is decide who earned what from each order. Teams that use it for marketplace payouts usually build that part themselves, then reconcile two systems every month.
- Splits run the moment a Stripe payment succeeds
- Refunds reverse every share in proportion
- Flat monthly plans, no per-payout fee from us

Why teams look elsewhere
Where Hyperwallet stops for a marketplace
Hyperwallet was built to send money out. It covers more than 200 markets and lets a payee choose from up to nine payout methods, including bank account, PayPal, Venmo, prepaid card and check. For a company paying insurance claims, rebates or prize winners, that breadth is exactly the point.
A marketplace has a different problem before any money leaves. A buyer pays 420 USD, and somebody has to work out that 357 USD belongs to the seller, 50.40 USD to the platform and 12.60 USD to the affiliate who sent the buyer. Hyperwallet expects you to arrive with that number already calculated. So the split logic lives in your own code or in a spreadsheet, and the payout file goes to a second system.
Two systems mean two records of the same money. When the buyer gets a partial refund after the seller was already paid, your team has to reverse the right shares, net the difference against the next payout and keep both records in agreement. That is the work that pushes most operators to search for Hyperwallet alternatives, not the payout fees themselves.
- Split rules with percentage, fixed and remainder lines on every order
- Proportional refunds, including after the seller payout went out
- One double-entry ledger from the charge to the payout
- Daily reconciliation against your Stripe balance transactions

Fee math
What 2,000 seller payouts a month cost in transfer fees
Take a US marketplace that pays 2,000 sellers once a month by domestic bank transfer. At the published Hyperwallet rate of 0.95 USD per domestic bank transfer, that is 1,900 USD a month in transfer fees alone, before any enterprise program fee. If 300 of those sellers switch to instant bank transfers at 1.50 USD, the total rises to 2,065 USD.

On FractionalPay the same marketplace pays a flat plan price, and the payouts run through its own Stripe Connect accounts at Stripe's rates. Whether that is cheaper for you depends on your Stripe pricing and payout mix, so run your own numbers. The bigger saving usually comes from not maintaining split code and a manual reconciliation between two systems. See how payouts are scheduled on marketplace payouts.
Honest fit
When to stay on Hyperwallet
Hyperwallet is the better choice in several real situations, and switching would make your payouts worse. Keep it when payout reach matters more than split logic.
- Your payees expect PayPal, Venmo, prepaid cards, cash pickup or paper checks
- You pay recipients in markets your Stripe account does not cover
- Your payments go out for claims, rebates or prizes, not as shares of incoming orders
- You collect checkout payments outside Stripe and cannot move them
Other options
Other Hyperwallet alternatives US platforms evaluate
FractionalPay is one answer, and it fits one shape of business. These are the other tools that usually make the shortlist, with the job each one is built for.
- Stripe Connect on its own, when your split is a single application fee and you never need to reverse more than one share
- Tipalti, when the real work is accounts payable with invoice approvals and supplier onboarding (see our Tipalti alternative page)
- Trolley, when you pay many creators or rights holders and need recipient tax forms collected at scale (see our Trolley alternative page)
- Payoneer, when your payees are international freelancers or sellers who already hold Payoneer accounts
- Routable and similar payout tools, when you want bank-rail payouts with W-9 collection and 1099 filing in one place
Switching
Moving seller payouts off Hyperwallet in four steps
You do not have to switch everything on one day. Most teams run new orders through FractionalPay while the last Hyperwallet batch settles, then turn the old program off. Engineers can do each step through the split payment API.
-
01
Connect Stripe
Link the Stripe platform account where checkout already runs. Charges, refunds and disputes start mirroring automatically.
-
02
Import sellers
Upload a CSV of sellers with their Stripe connected account ids, or create them through the API as they onboard.
-
03
Write the split rule
Seller percentage, platform fee, affiliate share and a hold for your return window. Test it on a real order amount first.
-
04
Set the payout schedule
Daily, weekly or monthly with a minimum amount, and every payout written to the ledger next to the order it came from.
