Moov alternatives

Moov alternative for marketplace payouts on Stripe

Moov is a US money movement platform that gives each seller a wallet and moves funds by ACH, RTP, FedNow and card, with a published price list. You script every transfer yourself. If your buyers already pay through Stripe, FractionalPay decides how much each seller, partner and the marketplace earns from every payment, holds and reverses shares, and pays sellers from that same Stripe account, with no wallet per seller to fund.

Teams look at Moov for cheap ACH and instant rails. The cost is a second balance and split logic your engineers write.

  • Seller shares calculated from the payment, not a spreadsheet
  • Refunds reverse every share in proportion
  • Flat monthly plans, no per-transaction fee from us

Why teams compare

What Moov does well and where a marketplace on Stripe still has work left

Moov is built for US money movement. Each seller or business gets a wallet, you move funds between wallets and out to bank accounts and cards through its API, and the rails include ACH, RTP, FedNow and push to card. Its pricing page is public, which is rare in this category, and ACH credits cost cents.

The trade-off for a marketplace that already collects on Stripe is a second balance. Money has to reach a Moov wallet before it can go out, someone has to work out each seller's net from every order, refund and fee, and reversals after a payout are yours to script. Moov moves money, it does not decide how much each party earns.

If your buyers already pay on Stripe and your sellers can be paid through Stripe Connect, the split, the hold, the refund reversal and the payout can all happen on the platform account where the order was paid, with the ledger matched to Stripe balance transactions.

  • Percentage, fixed and remainder shares on every Stripe payment
  • Holds until the delivery or return window passes
  • Partial refunds that reverse each share in proportion
  • One double-entry ledger from the order to the seller payout

Fee math

What paying 300 US sellers a month costs on each side

Take a US marketplace that sells 376,000 USD a month on Stripe, keeps a 15% commission and pays 320,000 USD to 300 US sellers once a month. Card processing is left out of both lines. Moov wallet and ACH fees are from its public page, and its 500 USD monthly minimum, seller verification fees and engineering time for splits are not in the line.

  • Moov payouts

    Detail

300 active accounts at 2 USD, 0.25% of 320,000 USD, 300 payouts at 25 cents

  • FractionalPay Growth

    Amount
    $249.00
  • Stripe Connect plus FractionalPay

    Detail

    $1,724.00

Moov is cheaper on raw payout fees at this size, and this page says so. What the line leaves out is the analyst time spent on each seller's net, the reconciliation between two balances and refunds that arrive after a seller was paid. What you stop building

The split logic FractionalPay takes off your engineers

With a wallet API the amounts are yours to work out. In FractionalPay these steps come built in, before any money moves.

Each feature is included from the plan shown and in every plan above it. Compare plans.

  • Payout schedules

    Starter+

Daily, weekly or monthly with a minimum amount, set per seller.

  • Holds and reserves

    Growth+

Keep a percentage back until delivery is confirmed or the return window closes.

Honest fit

When Moov is the better choice

Moov is the stronger pick in several real cases, and a split layer on Stripe will not change that. Choose it when low-cost ACH and RTP rails matter more than where the order was paid.

  • Your buyers do not pay on Stripe and you need a US wallet and ACH provider
  • Payouts are mostly flat amounts you already know, with no multi-party split
  • You want ACH credits at cents and instant payouts with a capped fee
  • You have engineers to build the wallet funding and reversal logic
  • You want a published price list and a US-only focus

Other options

Other Moov alternatives US marketplaces evaluate

FractionalPay fits one shape of business: payments already collected on Stripe and split between a seller, the marketplace and sometimes a third party. These are the other names that usually sit next to Moov on a shortlist, with the job each one does best.

  • Stripe Connect on its own, when your split is one application fee and refunds only touch one seller (see Stripe Connect split payments)
  • Adyen for Platforms, for a full processor move with sales-led onboarding (see our Adyen for Platforms alternative page)
  • Finix, for becoming a payment facilitator and keeping the margin (see our Finix alternative page)
  • Dots, when payout methods and speed matter most and you already know each amount (see our Dots alternative page)
  • Tipalti, when payouts are part of a wider accounts payable process (see our Tipalti alternative page)

Getting started

Splitting and paying sellers from your Stripe account in four steps

You can run both while you decide. Keep Moov for sellers you already pay there and move others as each payout cycle closes. Engineers can do each step through the payouts API.

  1. 01

    Connect Stripe

Link the Stripe platform account where checkout already runs. Charges, refunds and disputes start mirroring automatically.

  2. 02

    Onboard sellers

Import sellers who already have connected accounts by CSV and send the rest through Stripe's hosted onboarding.

  3. 03

    Write the split rule

Seller percentage, your commission, any referral share and a hold until the return window closes. Test it on a real order amount.

  4. 04

    Set the payout schedule

Weekly or monthly with a minimum amount, and every payout written to the ledger next to the orders it came from.

What is the best alternative to Moov for marketplace payouts?
It depends on where buyers pay. If they pay on Stripe and sellers are Stripe connected accounts, a split and payout layer such as FractionalPay removes the second wallet balance and works out each seller's net before payout. If you need ACH and RTP rails without Stripe, Moov itself is a strong fit.
How much does Moov cost?
Moov publishes its prices. Next-day ACH credits are 0.25 USD, same-day ACH 0.40 USD, instant RTP and push to card 0.95% with a 0.50 USD minimum and a 5 USD cap, and each active wallet is 0.50 USD a month. Standard pricing carries a 500 USD monthly minimum, and card acceptance is interchange plus 0.60% plus 15 cents.
Moov or Stripe Connect for a marketplace?
Stripe Connect is simpler when you already collect on Stripe, because funds stay in the account they were paid into. Moov is cheaper on ACH and gives you wallets outside Stripe. Neither works out multi-party split amounts for you, which is the job FractionalPay does on top of Stripe.
Can I use FractionalPay and Moov together?
Yes. Some teams keep Moov for sellers paid by ACH wallet and calculate shares, holds and refunds for Stripe-paid sellers in FractionalPay. The ledger export keeps both groups in one record for month-end reconciliation.
Does Moov handle split payments between sellers and the marketplace?
Moov moves money between wallets and out to bank accounts and cards, but you calculate the amounts in your own code. There is no rule engine for commission, referral shares or proportional refund reversals. FractionalPay adds that rule engine and ledger for payments collected on Stripe.
How fast can we test FractionalPay?
The same day. The split simulator needs no account, and after signup the sandbox runs with test keys and demo data, so you can split a copy of a real order and see the ledger and payout dates before you connect your live Stripe account.
