Routable alternatives

Routable alternative for marketplaces that collect on Stripe

Routable is a payables platform: you approve a bill or a payout, and it sends the money by ACH, check, wire or international transfer, then syncs to your accounting system. If your buyers already pay through Stripe, FractionalPay decides how much each seller, partner and the marketplace earns from every payment, holds and reverses shares, and pays sellers from that same Stripe account.

Marketplaces usually shortlist Routable because finance wants approvals and clean books. The gap shows up one step earlier, where someone still has to work out each seller's net amount.

  • Seller shares calculated from the payment, not a spreadsheet
  • Refunds reverse every share in proportion
  • Flat monthly plans, no per-transaction fee from us

Why teams compare

What Routable does well and where the work stays with you

Routable is built for finance teams that pay many vendors, contractors and sellers. It collects payee details and tax forms, routes payments through approval steps, pays domestically and abroad, and posts the result to accounting systems such as QuickBooks and NetSuite. For a marketplace with a controller who wants every payout approved and booked, that is a real strength.

What Routable does not do is decide the amount. Your checkout collects the money on Stripe, then someone calculates commissions, refunds and holds per seller, moves the net funds out of Stripe into a bank account, and uploads or posts the payout list. That is two systems, a funding transfer and a reconciliation gap every cycle.

If your sellers are paid through Stripe Connect anyway, the split, the hold, the refund reversal and the payout can all happen on the platform account where the order was paid, with the ledger already matched to Stripe balance transactions.

  • Percentage, fixed and remainder shares on every Stripe payment
  • Holds until the delivery or return window passes
  • Partial refunds that reverse each share in proportion
  • One double-entry ledger from the order to the seller payout

Routable pricing and features

Routable compared with FractionalPay on Stripe

Routable does not publish a price list. The subscription figure below comes from third-party listings checked in October 2026, which disagree with each other, so treat it as a range and ask Routable for a quote. Where Routable does a job FractionalPay does not, the table says so.

Fee math

What paying 300 US sellers a month costs on each setup

Take a US marketplace that sells 376,000 USD a month on Stripe, keeps a 15% commission and pays 320,000 USD to 300 US sellers once a month. Routable does not publish payment fees, so its rows show only the public subscription range. Stripe card processing is the same in both setups and left out.

  • Stripe Connect plus FractionalPay

The two setups are not the same job, so the totals are not a verdict. If Routable pays your sellers instead of Stripe Connect, you would not pay the Stripe payout lines but would pay Routable's per-payment fees. The costs a fee table hides are the analyst time spent calculating each seller's net, the transfer that funds each run and the refunds that arrive after a seller was paid. See how payout runs are scheduled on marketplace payouts and what each Stripe fee means in Stripe Connect fees for marketplaces.

Honest fit

When Routable is the better choice

Routable is the stronger pick in several real cases, and a split layer on Stripe will not change that. Choose Routable when your problem is paying and booking bills, not splitting orders.

  • You pay suppliers and vendors by invoice as well as marketplace sellers
  • Your controller needs bill approvals and ERP sync as the core workflow
  • You send international payments, checks or wires that Stripe Connect does not cover
  • You do not collect payments on Stripe and only need to send money out
  • Payee onboarding and tax form collection should sit with the payout provider

Other options

Other Routable alternatives US marketplaces evaluate

FractionalPay fits one shape of business: payments already collected on Stripe and split between a seller, the marketplace and sometimes a third party. These are the other names that usually sit next to Routable on a payout shortlist, with the job each one does best.

  • Tipalti, when payouts are part of a wider accounts payable process with tax and compliance (see our Tipalti alternative page)
  • Hyperwallet, now PayPal Enterprise Payouts, for prepaid cards and payouts in 200+ markets (see Hyperwallet alternatives)
  • Payoneer, for sellers spread across 190 countries (see our Payoneer alternative page)
  • Dots, when payout methods and speed matter most and you already know each amount (see our Dots alternative page)
  • Stripe Connect on its own, when your split is one application fee and refunds only touch one seller (see Stripe Connect split payments)

Getting started

Moving seller payouts onto Stripe in four steps

You can run both for a while. Keep Routable for vendor bills and move marketplace sellers as each payout cycle closes. Engineers can do each step through the payouts API.

  1. 01

    Connect Stripe

Link the Stripe platform account where checkout already runs. Charges, refunds and disputes start mirroring automatically.

  2. 02

    Onboard sellers

Import sellers who already have connected accounts by CSV and send the rest through Stripe's hosted onboarding.

  3. 03

    Write the split rule

Seller percentage, your commission, any referral share and a hold until the return window closes. Test it on a real order amount.

  4. 04

    Set the payout schedule

Weekly or monthly with a minimum amount, and every payout written to the ledger next to the orders it came from.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Routable for marketplaces?
It depends on where you collect payments. If buyers pay on Stripe and sellers are paid through Stripe Connect, a split and payout layer such as FractionalPay removes the manual net-amount step and the funding transfer. If you pay vendors by invoice with ERP approvals, Tipalti or Routable itself fit better.
How much does Routable cost?
Routable does not publish pricing. Third-party listings in 2026 put the entry plan between roughly 599 and 1,250 USD a month, with higher tiers and per-payment fees quoted by sales. Get a written quote that lists the fee for each payment method before comparing it with another tool.
Is Routable good for marketplace seller payouts?
Routable pays sellers and vendors with approvals and accounting sync, and its own content describes marketplace payouts as a use case. It does not calculate commissions, hold shares or reverse them on refunds, so a marketplace still needs that logic before each payment run.
Routable or Stripe Connect for payouts?
Stripe Connect is usually simpler when you already collect on Stripe, because funds never leave the account they were paid into. Routable adds approvals, ERP sync and payment methods Connect lacks. Neither decides split amounts for you, which is the job FractionalPay does on top of Stripe.
Can I use FractionalPay and Routable together?
Yes. Some teams calculate every seller share and hold in FractionalPay, pay Stripe-supported sellers directly and keep Routable for vendor bills and payments Stripe cannot send. The ledger export keeps both groups in one record for month-end reconciliation.
How fast can we test FractionalPay?
The same day. The split simulator needs no account, and after signup the sandbox runs with test keys and demo data, so you can split a copy of a real order and see the ledger and payout dates before you connect your live Stripe account.
